Things To Remember Before You Zip
1. Remember safety is first
All of our guides are here to ensure you have a truly amazing and fun time zip lining, but safety is always our top priority. Therefore, guides must follow strict guidelines and safety standards. To learn about the industry’s regulations, every single one of our guides must undergo 40 hours of technical training and then skillfully complete safety management assessments before leading a group. Plus, our equipment is regularly inspected. We take care of making sure you’re safe, so all you have to do is enjoy the adventure!
2. Research what’s included with each course
Our major attraction is the Zip Line Canopy Tour. This two hour treetop adventure consists of 7 zips, 3 swinging rope bridges, and a final 750 foot zip. Each zip line gets progressively longer and faster, so the adventure get more exciting as you go! Our Kid Zip Line is a little different. Junior adventurers get to continuously zip for 90 minutes and can choose to zip on a beginners or advanced circuit.
3. Dress the part
We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your trip, so dressing appropriately is important. Short shorts, excessively baggy clothing, or any type of clothing that will ride up and be uncomfortable with a harness are not advised. We also ask that all participants wear closed toed shoes that are securely fastened and tie back long hair. Other than that, we suggest that you don’t wear any loose articles, but we will be happy to store any sunglasses, jewelry, wallets, keys, and phones in the office during your trip!
4. Review the age/weight requirements
We have something for everyone in the family to enjoy, but there are some requirements that we ask that you review before booking. If you’re planning on zipping on the Kid Zip, you must be at least 5 years old and weigh between 40 to 180lbs. For the Canopy Adventure, participants must be at least 10 years old and weigh between 70 and 250lbs. Any adventurer under the age of 14 must accompanied by an adult on the Zip Line Canopy Tour. Our Canopy Adventure does start off with a 65 foot tower, though, so please note that you will have to climb stairs. Review a complete list of the requirements under each event on our website!!
5. Check the weather
Charleston’s summers are known for their high levels of heat and humidity, so it’s important to plan ahead. Remember, you’ll be above the tops of most trees and experiencing some sun exposure. Also, please note that our adventure doesn’t stop for the rain. Unless there is excessive wind or lightening our guides will push on!
6. Know the available add-ons
We have many exciting options that can make your experience extra special. Our climbing wall, for example, is 60 feet tall and fun for beginner or advanced climbers. You can book this attraction when booking your zip or in person. Plus, we offer a photo package!. Our guides will take numerous photos on the Canopy Zip, so make sure to look into the photo package as a way to capture these memories forever!
7. Sign those waivers
Waivers are required for all participants. For our adventurers under the age of 18, a parent must fill out a waiver on their behalf. We recommend filling out the waiver before you arrive to make your check-in process easier, but if you forget, we will have waivers available for you in the office. A link to the smartwaiver will be available on your confirmation email and our website!
8. Get excited!
We couldn’t be more excited that you’ll be joining us. This experience is both tranquil and exhilarating which makes it truly unlike anything else. Our fun staff and amazing options are sure to make your trip one that you and your friends and family will remember forever.
